Session 34: Animaesus and Tarrasques: Family Matters, Doors, and Belonging

General Summary

This new group faces off with the herd of Gorgon, where Dollie creates a magical cage of invisible force around the largest one, and Alexander summons Keeith the Demon to aid the party in this encounter, Stryke rides ones like a rodeo bull, Eros and Dollie cast psychic knives, and invisible veils to create countless advantages. Additionally, a new face joins us: Sadar Colarr, a drow who seemingly abandoned the 12th House and lives now in the wilds with Howl, his owlbear companion. They are able to fell the two younger 'calves' of the gorgon group while the larger male is caged behind the force of magic. Stryke decapitates one with his vorpal axe, taken from the Halfstar dwarf many weeks before.
Eventually Sadar reveals himself with his owlbear, and the group works to investigate these odd beast-like monstrosities, finding that he female who attacked in a rage after the fall of her tow calves was pregnant. They also learn that the paralysis breath that he gorgons had could be harvesting, at least chemically, from a sac in its chamber-like lungs. Additionally, the horns and hide could be harvested for magical items. The largest gorgon, the one trapped in the force-cage, is also stabilized to be sold and researched at some primary arcane facility that Alexander may know about.

They return to City of the Cynas, The Dog Yelps and Yackle , and find Nuvell, Roxana, and Stryke's Children with Birdman, enjoying a quiet day of sorts, but also helping to alleviate Nuvell's hangover from the night before with some very greasy meat pies. Sadar and Nuvell have standoff; more drow were not expected. Birdman and Howl get into a bit of standoff too, where the elf entices the owlbear.
Sadar and Stryke get confused about doors.
Not all Doorknobs are the same, apparently.
Alexander gives 500gp to Yorek, the stablemaster, to hold the gorgon for a day.
Eros and Birdman discuss the changes, the hope for adventure, the need for levity?
