The Night Brawl and Nightly Worries: Scallywags: Session 2
General Summary
On the Second of Light, First Sighted of the year 698, the Scallywags continue their three month long voyage on the Horizon's Call . This next day is a day of relative peace on the the vessel, with only the distractions of the vermin of the night before slowing down the The Crew of the Horizon's Call towards Feon .
Brimstone and others arise on the beginning of this day, where the Captain relives Thej from the helm, gets West ready for the day, and he begins to see the edges of a storm coming within the next few days. He orders the deckhands to work a wee bit early, but the Call gets moving quickly enough.
Skiff, the Call's Master Gunner, heads below, and he awakes Noodles, his apprentice and Powder Monkey. They joke of the repairs needed to be begun today because of Skiff 's arquebus, Queen Bess.
Torth Morningsea , the Call's Quartermaster, and Aikhon Dovah Rango begin their day with inventorying the lost wages from the vermin outbreak the previous day. They may get half their expected earnings. It is after this he learns that Gyc, working on a repeatin crossbow, but he still needs a tendon for a trigger... Aikhon gets a hand crossbow for his own purposes.
It is also during this time that the Call's surgeon, Rognur Cromsoms , tends to the very sick Rald, a minotaur deckhand, and goes below deck to find the Lutrin, Peanut, who is fine. Rognur also spends time with Ganoi Ogopiy working on repressurizing his steam grenades.
Ilknar begins to repair the explosions from the night of Vermin.
The crew wait patiently for Kevdae Tosscobble 's morning biscuits, while Dosgratin Bloodshoulder gets all hands on deck at the order of the Captain.
Skiff sees Brimstone, and the captain warns Skiff of how his attacks by be warding and and scaring the The Crew of the Horizon's Call from finding full cohesion; Brimstone also wants Skiff as the small one, patrol the boat, but Skiff sees this as below his pay grade.
Breakfast begins, and the al le carte style finds most eating on the move, but Torth, Brimstone, Ilknar, Aikhon, find conversation in kitchen. They worry of the next two days, the storm to come.
The others leave, and the dragon brothers, Aikhon and Brimstone, talk of the not so quiet interaction within the boat last night. They also discuss last night, the rats and others. Brimstone warns his brother that the crew seems to be uneasy with Aikhon's presence, of this seeming nepotism. Actions must be shown to prove such status.
Repairs and fishing take up most of the day, with Teyos, Deoy, and Peanut gaining a half a day's food, so the party has 6.5 days of food for the crew left, with 4 days until they arrive at Feon.
Pojin before dinner, goes down to the repairs in the privy, and he takes the Captain and his brother Aikhon with him. Other than the obvious discussion of repairs, the storm, and the resources the crew needs, the is a brief discussion of Pojin saying, asking Brimstone : what comes next?? The sea awaits.
Later that evening, before dinner and intense drinking, the Scallywags and Pojin's Party fight, with blurring lines of loyalty between. Inevitably, after some more damage to the ship from Bess and fire breaths, Teyos and Ilknar remain standing, with Teyos declaring Ilknar as the winner of the brawl. The crew's excitement at the ending of the brawl is only matched by their willingness to drink. The night is raucous, but the joy is real.
Now they await the storm to come... hopefully mild so they may finally return to Feon on, a pirate safe haven.
