Having grown tired of the boredom and restrictions placed on him as a prosthetics engineer, Brian Thatcher felt his life was being dictated too strictly by other people and longed for something more. The open road and the wind in his hair appealed to him, but he was no biker, so in stead took inspiration from romanticised stories of old pirates, vying for freedom from governmental oppression. He built his "ship", The Roadway Renegade and hired himself a crew of thugs and ruffians and began to terrorise the motorways surrounding Bathala City in search of a life free of restrictions.
