Districts
Industrial District: Where much of the remaining production work occurs within the city. Contains a few small factories and much of the cities warehouses and storage areas. The Railyard is located in this district and as such much of the city's destitute population finds shelter and acceptance here.
Seafaring District: Next door to the industrial district, the seafaring district contains the Bathala port and harbour areas as well as a few small beaches. There is some overlap with the industrial district due to the nature of industrial shipping to and from the city.
Recreational District: This bustling district is the city's go-to destination for entertainment, culture, and dining. It features a diverse mix of commercial and cultural attractions, including trendy boutiques, restaurants, museums, galleries, theatres, and concert halls. At night, the district transforms into a lively hub of music and nightlife, with a variety of bars, clubs, and live music venues. The district also hosts seasonal events and festivals, such as outdoor concerts and street fairs, and is easily accessible by public transportation.
Administrative District: This district is the hub of the city's government and administrative activities. It's home to city hall, the courthouse, and various municipal departments, as well as many businesses and law firms that work closely with the government.
Innovation District: This district is the city's hub for education, technology, and entrepreneurship. It's home to several universities, research institutions, and start-ups that are at the forefront of innovation and experimentation. The district is a vibrant community of free thinkers, scientists, and entrepreneurs who come together to develop new ideas and technologies.
Outskirts District: This district is located on the outskirts of the city and primarily serves as a space for large-scale projects and activities that require more ground area. The district is home to large industrial complexes, logistics and transportation hubs, and storage facilities. It also features vast open spaces that are used for outdoor activities, such as sports fields, parks, and recreational areas.
Suburbs: The suburbs are primarily residential areas that offer a relaxed and peaceful lifestyle on the outskirts of the city. They offer a range of housing options, community amenities, and a strong sense of community. While less dense than the city center, the suburbs offer opportunities for education, employment, and recreation, making it a great place to raise a family or seek a quieter pace of life.
Bathala City is the centre of much of the superhero activity of the 21st century, earning it the nickname "The Home of Heroes" even though there are statistically more villains in the city proper. Built on the coast by merchants and sailors in the early 1200's, Bathala and to a lesser extent, its sister city Salanas across the harbour, has always been a place where history happens. Something of a melting pot of different cultures and walks of life, the various peoples living within the city borders range from exceedingly wealthy business moguls up in Bathala Heights, to the dregs of society living in the slums and the Railyard.
