Gelida Colles (ghe-LIE-dah COLE-less)

This freezing forest to the southwest of Les Forêts Jumelle is perhaps the single least pleasant place in the southern hemisphere for living creatures that need warmth to survive. Few venture here, with even the goliaths and more cold-adapted fey who live in Les Forêts giving it a wide berth. It is nonetheless rich in mineral resources, causing a few foolhardy souls to venture into its high, chilly environs each year in search of the gemstones which can be found there. It is true that diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and all manner of similarly precious stones can be found in the Gelida Colles, but few return to enjoy their riches. Monsters of a strange and indescribable sort roam these woods, preventing all but the most lucky from escaping intact.
