The Soaring Heights

In the south of Nionibus, farther south even than Riverdell, is an imposing wall of mountains. In the northern half of these mountains live the reclusive Air Genasi, who climb the heights as part of their coming-of-age ceremonies. To the south, following the curve of land which forms the Silvae Peninsula, is the Antiqua Silvae, an ancient, slow-growing boreal forest deeper and darker than any other. This primeval woodland is home to the Frost Elves, and their city of Unanuvenas. The mountains separate the Antiqua Silvae from the Dawnlight Prairie, and have historically protected the Air Genasi and Frost Elves from potential conquest by the various human or gnomish kingdoms which have risen and fallen in the great grasslands to the north.
