Stojanow Gate

Anghor Thom's Militia Headquarters & Anghor Prison

Stronghold

The Stojanow Gate is the headquarters of the Anghor Militia and houses the few prisoners that last more than a couple days before being released or hanged. Executions are swift, and generally carried out in full view of the public with the convicted's bodies left in the cold for days on end as examples to others.

Approach

The massive iron-bound doors of Stojanow Gate are spread wide open as they have been for over one hundred years. From the top of the wall, bodies hang from thick rope; twisting slowly in the breeze while ravens peck away at the tastier morsels. A long line of people are generally lined up at a desk where a bored looking guard thumbs through an enormous ledger that he records complaints, propositions, and legal matters.

People

The militia are loyal to Sherif Ivor. They have at times been pressed into service when the kingdom is under duress, however, even then, they are not mixed with the professional soldiers or knights.

Purpose / Function

The history of the gate has been lost over time, though it is well known few if anyone in Anghor believe it is younger than the settlement. It is old, just how old, no one can say.

Architecture

Stojanow's gate does not look like the more contemporary buildings in Anghor Thom and more closely resembles Tall Crest Tower.

Points of Interest:

A guard post sits outside the tower and is where most business is conducted.

Location:

North of Anghor Thum, but South of The Keep. It is hard (but not impossible) to get to The Keep without passing the tower.

Weather:

Very cold, even in Spring and Fall. Moderate summers do not last long because of the strong winds from the wastes.
