Krasftra

Krasftra is the capital city of the United Islands of Skafrontse (UIS). Located at the northwest of the Circle of Skafrontse, it's one of the main points of entry into the archipelago for most foreigners. The city also hosts the headquarters of the Skafrontsesh Space Agency (SSA), a world leader on astronomy in Einya, as well as the Night Ghosts, considered by many the best intelligence agency.
Before Krasftra, the capital of the UIS was Markra.

History

Krasftra is one of the oldest settlements in the world. The oldest buildings, still standing, are thousands of years old, which means that it already existed before the Scholar Age. However, when the Scholar Age began, the School of Skafrontse took on the city as its capital and it built its college there. During the collapse of the Scholar Age, Krasftra turned into a battlefield between the School and the newly-formed Skafrontsesh government. Currently, most of Krasftra is ruled by the UIS government, but the School and its immediate surroundings are an independent territory under the School's rule.

Science and Space

Some decades ago, the UIS government, seeing how the Eimaui Confederation (a historical rival) was leading the world in arcane technology, decided to create the SSA, the Skafrontsesh Space Agency, to set its foot into the space race. Due to the planetary rings, launching spacecrafts can be more complicated than in other worlds, but thanks to smart engineering (and a bit of corporate espionage) the SSA was the first organization to launch a spacecraft beyond the rings. Since then, it has led the world in everything space-related.
