Van Allen Mansion
Van Allen Mansion is the family home of Charles Van Allen. He started his family with Lydia Doyle and had three children with her. The family employed a groundskeeper, Henry, and his wife Bessie was their midwife and housekeeper. The family was very happy, but tragedy struck in 1915.

A fire started in the master bedroom, and burned the whole mansion to the ground. The only survivors were Charles' mother, Edith, and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth. They ran to a neighbor's house for help, but help came too late. The house burned to the ground and the rest of the family with it. The authorities and medical help found one additional person on the premises. He was not directly connected to the family, but was apparently in the house at the time of the incident. He was badly burned and had other injuries.

Years later, the old mansion seemed to mysteriously rebuild itself; a shining beacon of its former glory. No one knew how though, the property had been abandoned for years...
The man was later identified as William Crawford. He admitted to police that he had been in the house to confront Mr. Van Allen. Once he made a full recovery, he would have been placed in jail. However, that was not to be. He spent the rest of his life in the hospital as his health declined. It seems his guilt was more than he could bear.
