Cylinder Players
Cylinder players are crystal-powered devices used to both play movies and and shows on Cylinders as well as to record and play back material broadcasted on television, much like our world's videocassette- or DVD players. Their use dates back a few decades and there are a number of different brands originating from all over Borgalor, from central and northwestern Jælondis to central Örkraz and the northern Southlands, with the most popular ones being produced by Laræn-Taþvún Group and its rival Qe'e Co.
Modern cylinder players are designed specifically for optical cylinders with a surface similar to our world's CDs, while older kinds play ones made of wax or glass. Most brands have a shiny or -more recently- matte metal exterior, usually brass or steel, though a few -such as the ones produced by Laræn-Taþvún Group have a wooden one instead, a holdover from older models.
