Jælondis (jaiːlɔːndɪːs)

Jælondis is the second largest of the four continents in Borgalor, located on the northern hemisphere and home to most of the world's sapient species, namely Dwarves, Elves, Goblins and Humans. Goblins settled in eastern and southeastern Jælondis after migrating from Örkraz to the south long ago, while human civilization is no longer centered on the continent since the Fell Wars and has since shifted to the Southlands instead.
With the human heartlands left to beasts and the undead since the war, dwarven and goblin cultures are currently the dominant ones in Jælondis.

Geography

Woodlands dominate much of the land in Jælondis, ranging from taiga to deciduous forests, particularly in the region of Ójom to the east and Iðlía Forest to the west and northwest, while much of the southern and southwestern part is composed of temperate savanna and open grassland, and the northernmost region is a vast tundra. Between these rise the Qug Mountains, the highest ones in Borgalor.
The main population centers are located in the mountains and along the eastern and southern coast, while smaller but nonetheless notable settlements are also found in Þjaris, northern and central Jútrilía and eastern Maralon Steppe.
The land scoured by the Fell Wars in southwestern Jælondis, commonly known as Amþax, remains a disputed territory.

Fauna & Flora

Jælondis has a diverse fauna, flora, pseudofauna- and flora, many of which are endemic to the continent, though a number of domesticated plants and animals have been introduced to distant places such as Örkraz and particularly the Southlands over the last few centuries.
Notable species include Gryphons, Wyverns, Hippocamps, reindeer, muskoxen, Dust Bunnies, Star Oats, Mandrakes and Frost Roses.
