Kmarana

Kmaranic (traditional script): Honórn mé Kmarana /hɔnouːrtn̥ mjɛː khmʌːɾʌːnʌː/
Kmaranic (jekralonic script): Honórn mje Kmarana /hɔnouːrtn̥ mjɛː khmaːraːnaː/

Kmarana was a kingdom in what is now central Amþax on the northwestern Maralon Steppe in southwestern Jælondis. Centered on the city of Fomúar upon the lower Zúrta River, it was ruled by the conservative Þúlgacid dynasty, considered one of the oldest and most esteemed royal families among many Humans on the steppe at the time, though this view shifted during the last few decades of Kmarana's existence.
For most of its history, Kmarana's society was much like that of its neighbours, with most of its inhabitants being semi-nomadic or lived sedentary lives close to the capital, the lattermost -aside from nobles- were effectively serfs. As in the neighbouring kingdoms of Imúría, Jörgalía and Zynþraka, this system persisted even as neighbouring countries began shifting from monarch- and oligarchies to being republics, which brought the aristocratic families of the four kingdoms closer together, culminating in an alliance known as the Tetrarchy.
Fearing that their power would be challenged in the near future, the tetrarchs turned to necromancy and eventually succeeded at transforming themselves into the first liches, and afterwards began turning their subjects into undead beings as well. Conflicts broke out as the liches sent armies into surrounding countries to add villagers into their undead hordes, and over the next five years much of Borgalor became involved in what is now commonly referred to as the Fell Wars.
Jaskíó Þúlgas V, the Tetrach of Kmarana, was the third and by far the most difficult lich to be brought down. Very few kmaranans remain, mostly ones (or descendants of those) who already lived abroad or escaped being turned undead prior to the war.
