Asmodeus

Asmodeus is the greatest devil in existence and rules all of devilkind from his seat in the 9th Layer of Hell (The 9 Hells). That is not say there are no devils who wish for his power and plot to usurp him, but he has been the Archdevil for as long as anyone can remember, and his power is as great as that of the gods. He is known by many nicknames, including but not limited to the prince of evil, god of indulgence and the patron of opression. Asmodeus is known to be an unmatched strategist and orator, having even corrupted the once divine Elara and Zariel. Though he may turn others to evil, he always ensures that the contract is explained clearly to all parts and always follow thorugh, though it rarely leads to the outcome the other party thought.

Relationships

Asmodeus is scorned by most divines and hated by the demons, and all mortals with sense fear him - yet he does not lack family. He and Elara have supposedly been together for millenia, and he has two daughters - Glasya, ruler of Malbolge (the 6th layer of The 9 Hells), and Cressida - though Glasya's parentage remains unclear.

The Blood War

Asmodeus leads the devils' efforts in the Blood War, the eternal conflict raging between demons and devils, and it is said that he bears a grude towards the gods for this. Him and his devils work tirelssly, thorugh force of will and discipline they keep the threat of The Abyss at bay, and many devils believe that all mortals should bow down in thanks and submit to their rule.
