Harbormaster's Alliance of Afthonia
The Harbormaster's Alliance of Afthonia is the wealthiest guild of Byzu Mora. They have final say in all mercantile dealings that occur within the Afthonian Peninsula, control the harbors, and have access to all shipping manifests and trade agreements. To export or import goods into any port of Afthonia, one must go through the Harbormaster's Alliance, and pay the appropriate commissions and tariffs associated with local and international trade.
The Harbormaster's Alliance holds the majority seat of the Asilo Guild Consortium, acting as the defacto leader and primary organizer of the Consortium. While not in direct control of Afthonia's armies, the Alliance has garnered an understanding of quid pro quo.
The Alliance is generally respected among citizens of Byu Mora, but many hold the opinion that the Alliance has begun to abuse its power. Recently, the Alliance has begun to leverage the Afthonian military as a pseudo private army, and some fear an imposition of martial law and a power grab by the Alliance's Elite.
