Ploiclaings Briyupe

/plɔɪklaɪŋz bɹɪjuːp/ Pronounced phonetically as: "Ploi-klines Bri-oop"
Journey to Feathers

History

The story goes that a clan had been suffering from a long period without enough for everyone to eat. An Orc that not yet grown into their tusks grew restless and angry with the hunger and went hunting, vowing to not return until they had found game the clan could eat. This journey led them to the ruins on the mountain, and when they returned, brought with them a large elk and shared with their clan.

Execution

There is said to be an ancient ruined temple near the summit of a mountain at the southern end of the "Wychu Paniaufew" Forefather Mountains where an Orc coming of age collects the fire feathers that seem to be there each season, gather as much as they are able, and return. The trip up the mountain is never the same for anyone, stories abound of encountering fears and obstacles that no one else had to face. What remains the same for everyone is the arrival and the return.

Participants

A young Orc is prepared for the Journey at an early age, shown how to survive in the wilds by a parent, older sibling, etc. Mentor and student are the primary participants in this Journey, with others in the clan blessing the participant on the day of setting off.

Observance

Summer, when the spring thaw has cleared the paths up the mountain.
