History

Lugdia's origins can be traced back to a small confederation of warring city-states. Through a series of alliances and conquests, a charismatic leader united these city-states under a single banner, forming the Kingdom of Lugdia.   Lugdia's early history is marked by periods of expansion and consolidation of power. The kingdom's innovative military tactics and skilled engineers allowed them to secure their borders and establish trade routes.   Lugdia has a long history of scholarly achievement. The kingdom has produced renowned mathematicians, philosophers, and inventors who have made significant contributions to various fields. Their discoveries and inventions have not only benefited Lugdia but also influenced other nations.   During The Schism: Third World War, nuclear detonations ravaged the landscape, blanketing vast swaths of the kingdom in radioactive fallout. Innovation and military might offered little defense against this invisible enemy. Cities became wastelands, once fertile fields transformed into barren stretches, and the very air became tainted.   In the aftermath, a desperate exodus unfolded. Lugdia, once a beacon of progress, became a poisoned chalice. The survivors, those fortunate enough to escape the immediate devastation, clung to whatever means of escape they could find.   Lugdia's famed shipbuilding industry provided a glimmer of hope. Twenty-six massive barges, originally constructed for grand expeditions, were repurposed into floating sanctuaries.
