Pre-honeymoon
What Is It?
Pre-honeymoon is a tradition compulsorily observed by every couple who wishes to marry. It ensures that the couple is compatible and does not experience any marital strife.
History
After Ameuses created the first angels and had them unite in marriage, He discovered that they were experiencing marital issues; they were always arguing, disagreeing on various matters and were generally unhappy. Ameuses realized that this was because the angels rushed to get partners out of a need to populate Caelumen.
To combat this issue, He taught the angels the importance of choosing the right partner and enjoying a married life. This worked for a while, but some angels were still unhappy with their marriage. So, He asked the angels to devise a solution. The angels consulted each other and created a remedy which was to arrange a honeymoon of sorts before a couple's actual honeymoon to determine the couple's compatibility before they officially marry. Ameuses was pleased with the idea and named it the "pre-honeymoon".
Execution
The tradition is executed in these steps:
After receiving approval from their parents, the couple is sent to live in the Garden of Eden for ten years. They are given basic building materials like wood (it's forbidden to cut down the trees in the garden), bricks and stone to construct a temporary home and are instructed to manage the available resources. This tests the couple's ability to cooperate to achieve a common goal and manage resources together.
Every June, two nuns from The Central Church visit the couple to see how they are faring and note their compatibility level and any potential issues.
n their third year, the couple is instructed to choose two animals living in the garden to take care of for the next three years. This fosters compassion towards animals and prepares the couple for the responsibility of caring for a pet (if they want one, that is).
After the animal catering ends in the sixth year, the final test begins: parenting. The two nuns again go to the couple and give them the soul of an orphaned human baby to care for for the remaining four years. They also introduce dangerous animals into the garden to serve as a threat to the child. This tests the couple's ability to love and care for a child and willingness to do anything to keep them safe.
Only when the couple passes these steps can they officially wed.

The pre-honeymoon process was really difficult and a bit scary, but it was all worth it to forever be with my love!
Participants
The most important participant in this process is, of course, the engaged couple. There are also the two nuns from The Central Church who provide them with supplies and monitor their progress.
Observance
The pre-honeymoon takes place two weeks after the couple becomes engaged.
Marriage is a wonderful gift from Ameuses, so we ensure that there isn't any stife or problems.

When I learned about the steps to be completed, I was very anxious. I'd never imagined that my love and I had to defend a baby from a dangerous animal to prove our compatibility! But after it was all said and done, I'm glad we completed it.
