Session 14: High and Dry in Highgate
After committing an act of piracy is Caspia with "Captian" Jacques Moineau, The Chapter of Gold must find a way out of the city. Between the ever-looming threat of Vincent Gollan and the bounties on their name, the city is quickly becoming unsafe. With time running short in Ios, they must quickly escape the city.
Asra, wanting to gain more information about The Curator, came up dry. Luckily along the way she met a friendly noble of her own. A woman by the name of Dyra de Niclaeys has sought her out and offered help.
Deacon Glaas has worked his way into the noble class and started to work on a way to get out of the city unnoticed. Finding two young wealthy women, Sophie Laflèche and Simone Gachet, he works them both to get a ride out of town. Unfortunately, a young upcoming aristocrat Henri Hémery has taken notice of his new romantic rival.

Structure
Exposition
Along the winter-touched Broken Coast of Cygnar, the city of Highgate prepares of Dolethfest. It is a place of militaristic cleanliness and tourist awe of seaside vacationing. There is an upper-class suburban atmosphere, where everything is careful not to look too different. While there are countless attractions, today is a day to honor those lost at sea, and you find yourself remembering those who have been taken into the abyss. Townsfolk relax in their duties and spend the day preparing lanterns to guide the countless lost souls. Across Caen, family and friends prepare drinks and speak words of remembrance together on the docks of every port, river.
Conflict
Ios is almost hopeless and Shanta is about to accomplish her goal. If the party doesn't arrive in time, Shanta will complete her goals in Ios. More recently, the party has gained a bounty for piracy done with "Captian" Jacques Moineau, making it difficult to travel safely. With a large bounty, there is now bound to be someone on the train. Luckily, Deacon has worked to secure a way out of town, but courting two women and dealing with a scorned rival might make some trouble.
Rising Action
- Vincent Gollan makes an announcement to ensure safety at all holiday events, the city's guards will be on double duty.
- If the party wants to get through the dock without any trouble, Deacon needs to attend the gala with Simone Gachet
- Henri Hémery is catching onto Deacon and will try to get him in trouble
- Darian Coley is hunting the party for their bounty. To do so he is trying to isolate them using his deception skills.
Climax
At the climax of the story, the gang must try to get out of town without getting caught. Everything will come to a head at the river dock where Sophie Laflèche has prepped 3 boats to lead them up the river.
Falling Action
The face changes rapidly before mixing back in with the crowd. As if the entire crowd was whispering all at once words carry to you, "We are all mimicking something else. Copying a story, playing out the family script, or playing a public image. I choose to mimic something better than myself, what about you?" -Darian Coley
