Maliciean Scientific Commune

Born from necessity and out of the need to work with and experiment on technologies and sciences that were not safe to have housed among the general population, the Commune was constructed as a means to this end. While on the surface it seems fairly innocuous, a bustling village filled with a large number of the intellectual elite, this facade serves primarily as housing and creature comforts for the scientists and inventors that work here. Below the cobbled paths, housing, shops, and the like are buried vaults and tunnels where the actual proposed work is done. Several of the larger common building contain hidden entrances, secured and guarded that allow access to these lower levels where all manner of things are studied and worked on. While a great deal of the projects maintained here are military in purpose, there are even more that are focused on understanding the Void and the creatures it spawns, as well as the wide array of mutations that have occurred due to continued exposure with the energies that now permeate the ambient atmosphere of the planet. To date there has only ever been one incident or accident that has resulted in any large scale damage or loss of life that has been reported, and that was the result of the infamous Mauve Einstrahum infiltrating the defenses of the location by using her abilities and forcing the inhabitants to act according to her will.
