Volri

Volri was the third daughter and sixth child of the Antecedent Mother of All. She is portrayed as a young woman in a heavy hooded cloak bearing her weight on a tall walking stick. Renderings of her never show a direct view of her face, but always show a tired, slightly slumped posture and wrapped feet. Volri was one of the more enigmatic goddesses and by far the youngest of them. Unlike the others, she was claimed by people rather than claiming a race for herself. She was a very marginalized deity compared to her brothers and sisters, which may have played a part in her involvement in the Blight. It was through her manipulations that the gods were involved at all, using her high priestess, Sasha Vrend to manipulate the Sovereign Daimus III and his court into bringing about the necessary fear and mistrust for the plan to be brought to fruition. While she is not evil by nature, Volri had no love for order either. She has become fairly attached to the people that claimed her, and in her own way felt that by removing some of the players on the field, her people might finally have room to ascend and find a home of their own. When the Blight fell, she saw the damage she had done and stepped, with Sasha Vrend in hand, into the darkness her pride and deceit had brought about. She is believed to have been devoured by the Void.

Holidays

Volri was a goddess of Winter, and held the Winter solstice in especially high regard. The longest night of the year allowed for her and her folk to spend an evening in the dark, away from the lights and prying eyes of those who looked down upon them. Her clergy would extinguish all light and encourage the community they served to spend the evening in silence, wordlessly showing solidarity by embracing all those they encountered in the dark.
