Faberite
Faberites are creatures of pure law, living incarnations of the order that first built the city of Libra. They are Libra's first inhabitants, and serve as the lords, caretakers, and architects of the cities.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Faberites have two true forms: a physical form and an incorporeal metallic dust form.
Genetics and Reproduction
Faberites are created from the souls of mortals who were neither good nor evil and valued civilization and invention in their lives.
Ecology and Habitats
Faberites claim that they are the mathematical laws of reality made manifest in order to understand itself. The first faberites were created from the essence of an ancient entity of order, before the advent of mortal life. These ancient Faberites are known as hierarchs, and take the most alien forms among their race.
New faberites are created from the souls of mortals who embodied the ideals of order, invention, and impartiality — such as architects, crafters, mathematicians, and philosophers — and found their way to Libra. Faberites claim that just as mortal souls have the potential to become devils, demons, and celestials, some also have the potential to become a part of the Godmind.
The actual transformation of a soul into an faberite is a mysterious process. The soul experiences the "Call of the Godmind", a pull towards one of the many faberite constructions within Libra, each of which is related to a class of laws, attracting souls with similar interests. Once a soul reaches one of these constructions, they commune with it, disappearing within for several days during which they undergo the "Resonance." When they reemerge they do so as a faberite, one with the Godmind.
The only place faberite call home is the Eightfold Cities of Libra. They rarely leave their home, but some brave faberite can be found elsewhere either trying to understand some fundamental laws of the universe, proselytise the value of order, fight chaos, or expand the borders of Libra. A large presence of Faberites are known to exist within the various branches of the Library of Nihilloc assisting in research and organization of the millennia of information that exists within each.
Outside of Libra, faberites can be found in Axiom, the Heavens, Hell, Mandos, and the domains of lawful powers, keeping embassies and working with fellow researchers. On the Material Plane, faberites sometimes assist in guiding the advancement of lawful cultures.
Faberites maintain numerous laboratories hidden across the multiverse, where they conduct dangerous research.

Social Structure
Faberites act as lords, caretakers, architects, and craftsmen of the Great Cities of Libra. They are all equal among each other as part of the Faberite Godmind
The Faberite Godmind
Faberite society is inwardly focused and divided into three groups or Pillars: Knowledge, Enforcement, and Administration. The First Pillar focuses on researching the history and laws of the planes beyond Libra and the universe itself; the Second Pillar is tasked with building and maintaining Libra and the faberites' servitors, an army of inevitables; the Third Pillar occupies itself with managing Libra and the city-plane's diplomatic relations. Faberites of the Second Pillar are expansionist, but do this solely due to their wish to regulate the universe. Despite its three separate focuses, faberite society moves with a single purpose. The race is collectively ruled by the Faberite Godmind, which is formally known as Transcendental Council of the Defined Infinite. Despite its name, the Godmind is not a deity, or a singular hive-mind entity. It is instead a composite of the greatest faberite minds from each of the three focuses of their society. Referring to faberites collectively is equatable to referring to the Godmind, as their actions are the Godmind's.Relationships
Inevitables are by far the most prominent of the faberites' servitors. In addition to them, faberites also employ scrivenites as preservers of knowledge. The most powerful of their creations are the primal inevitables, the seven apkallu, the Ghost of Departed Quantities, inevitables that are worn as armor by faberite generals, and other strange things that are both and neither inevitable and faberite, but are amalgamations of metal and mathematics. Faberites maintain strong alliances with both celestials and devils, and often cooperate with them against proteans and demons. They hold a deep, mutual respect with psychopomps and mercanes. They have increasingly sought to collaborate with many signatories of the Unseelie Accords, but have difficulty working alongside its chaotic members. Faberites find it hard to interact with other beings, especially mortals; they operate on a geological timescale, often fail to grasp that different circumstances require different solutions, and their methods tend to be blunt, extreme, and lacking in nuance. Their actions are guided by cold pragmatism alone, devoid of any benevolence or malice. Accustomed to having loyal inevitable servants and reluctant to directly act, they usually hire adventurers as agents, which they see as operating according to their own law. Despite the difficulties of interaction between faberites and their hirelings, they always follow their bargains to the letter. Some faberites discover impossible calculations that are neither true nor false and reveal some terrible realities that lie beyond known creation. Agents of dark gods take advantage of their ensuing despair to lure them away with the promise of clearing their memories only to transform them into hateful entities of negative energy.Geographic Origin and Distribution
