Fields of Glory
Where gods once tread...
The Fields of Glory are golden plains that make up the central portion of the continent of Harental. It is the homeland of the Aestiir and the site of the capital of the Aestaran Empire, Aestara.
A vast grassland similar to that of Calenard, the Fields of Glory however does not boast the same temperate climate. Cool most of the year for the majority of the plains with bitter winter winds blowing down from the north makes Aestara a harsh place much of the year. This coupled with the hard, less fertile soil than Calenard makes the need for strict farming necessary to feed the people who live there.
Regardless of the difficulty, the people who live there believe their golden fields are blessed by the gods and the origin of humanity.
Geography
This steppe makes up the central portion of the region of Aestara and is bordered on both east and west by mountain ranges, a large forest to the south and an arctic sea to the north. These lands are much like those of Calenard, but dryer and less fertile. They seem prone to famine and less fertile than they should be around the center of the country. They still have the ability to produce food, but with the rise in population over the centuries, the people now rely on Calenard’s food production to keep them all fed.
Fauna & Flora
Growing crops is a difficulty in the steppe of Aestara, more so than one would normally think it to be. A fully healthy crop may wither and die within days while some crops grow far faster. Weeds and other wild plants can overtake portions of fields at an alarming rate and some plants that grow are entirely different than they should be, mutated and changed by the land.
Animals for this reason also tend to act strange but it has a lesser effect on them outside of making it more difficult to find recognizable food. However there are times where creatures that have not been seen before, monstrous in nature, appear from the wilds.

Natural Resources
Aestara has an abundance of platinum that it mints into currency among other uses.
Wood is procured from the southern area of the region which is dominated by a vast, dangerous forest known as the Bare Weald.
Bordered by mountains to both the east and west, Aestara also has a self-sufficient supply of metals and gems.
The Region is however, regardless of it's size, has difficulty producing crops for it's populace, relying instead on trade and vassal states to provide needed food.
