Imperial Invasion! The Divine Emperor Moves on the Murk!
The Divine Emperor of
Aestara has led his people to victory once more, stomping out insurgents and malcontents with righteous fury. With his territories firmly under his control, his eyes surely shift to new lands, the most accessible being the Murk and the Citte of Gaklin. When questioned, a representative of the Headmaster Paisteza of the College of Statecraft and Strategy stated "as with all who attend and have attended our campus, we expect only the best in their military campaigns." A professor of the military branch of the college also remarked on the Emperor's success, stating "The Emperor was an exceptional student. I would imagine any general in his position, with his collected honors, to make a successful assault on even this entrenched city." Adding "I imagine the Citte of Songs and Shadows will soon be echoing with his praises."
The
Bright Ministry embassy echoes the accolades with the somewhat ominous tone: "Soon all shall know the glory of our God-Emperor. Soon all eyes shall see the truth of his divinity and goal."
Meanwhile, the
Republic of Lérandora, who has denounced the acts of the Divine Emperor since the start of his campaign, continues to offer sanctuary to those fleeing the Empire. Ambassador Harrin Galimnos of the Republic told the Herald "We in Lerandora have experienced more than our fair share of dealings with tyrants and authoritarians. We have been approached by the Empire, but we the people of Lerandora have no intention to trade one tyrannical power with a god complex for another."
Trandafiran Generosity
An article praising the generosity of the Trandafiran Viscount Nastase for their generosity in donating the funding and workforce to build a newly finished addition on to the Arcane Academy.
How Free Should the Free City Be?
Zarrath has long held a stance of open arms to those who need a new home, a new place to start over, or sanctuary free of the events in their home lands. This is a proud tradition passing back to even its founding, but with recent events in the last few years - and even the last century - when do we say enough is enough? Zarrath is a melting pot of culture and ingenuity thanks to its mix of several cultures. It's colleges some of the best in the world thanks to the many viewpoints and experiences that can be called upon. However, with the continued influx of new refugees with little to their name and no competitive skillsets we may no longer be allowing in skilled workers and thinkers who will boost our economy and industry, but those who will struggle and pull us down as a society as they are inevitably taken in by the rampant crime syndicates, guilds, and gangs that prowl our streets today.
This began only half a century ago when the Aestaran Empire enacted the Devils Purge edict and began a civil war that caused a surge of asylum-seeking members of their society to seek the protection of Zarrath. Now, only a few years ago even the grand city of Alloy on another plane entirely has citizens arriving to seek refuge. With the war in the Empire in full swing and a new swath of fresh faces climbing off the ships each day we can only wonder how much more we can take. Are we, the famed city of Zarrath, pinnacle of economy and innovation to be doomed and dragged down by those who enter our walls with no merit or skill? Are we to remain as the free city or are we going to allow ourselves to be dragged into obscurity? To become Zarrath, the Refugee City, the formerly great.

Rumors Of A Spreading Plague
An aggressive article that questions the continued ability for the Principalities to deal with the plague that continues, by all accounts, to persist within the Delzamin region of the Principalities home to the noble Surikhan family. While the elves claim that they are working alongside the noble house of Surikhan to quell this disaster, after nearly two years it is difficult to believe the claims that the family even exists. Since the beginning of this disease's spread nearly two years ago, the Principalities have deflected any attempts for others to enter or investigate the region, claiming the matter is under control and the region is under strict quarantine. The article claims a more suspicious turn of events. With heightened tension between the border territories of the Principalities and Trandafira and the strange sightings by some of "our more courageous scouts and investigators" it is becoming more likely that this plague is some Tradafiran plot. Members of the Nazarhan family staying in their manor upon the Dawn's Rise claim information they receive from the Principalities about the situation remains the same. Trandafiran spokespeople visiting their newly built university wing claim ignorance of the entire ordeal, but claim that should the elves provoke their viscounts, they would be prepared to exacerbate their issues.
Diamond Economy Failing?
An article detailing the troubles with the diamond economy. With Aestara, one of the largest suppliers of diamonds and platinum, at war, they have withheld more of their diamonds with every passing month. Platinum trade has stagnated in nations they have chosen to oppose driving prices up. Diamonds are rising by the day and nobility, temples, and arcane institutes have begun hording what diamonds they have.
Waring States
A short article vaguely touching on a rising possibility of conflict occurring to the south between three rival countries/city-states.
Draconic Faction
A faction of raeikyn have formed a new faction within the borders of Khalimar that is growing in popularity. A new movement looks to focus more on the aspects of the dragon kingdoms that once ruled the lands of the Expanse. The shift is unexpected and surprisingly fervent in their stance. A member on behalf of the movement has been proselytizing on behalf of their faction for the past week.
