Crecian
The official language of Crecia, Crecian is a fast paced language which doesn’t translate well into Trade, though it does share several words with the language. To the untrained ear, Crecian has a tendency to sound sharp and grating, however in reality, Crecian is a language which uses long, winding turns of phrase and has a tendency to use flowery language.
Crecian is relatively easy to learn, as it doesn’t possess very many tenses and has no gendered nouns, though natural speaking Crecians are quick to tease people who don’t quite have a grasp on enunciation. It’s all in good fun, though, and most Crecians are more than happy to sit and chat with strangers that would like to practice.
Writing System
The Crecian alphabet is phonic, with a good mix of round and pointed shapes. It’s written ‘backwards’ from other languages, which many newcomers find confusing at first, but eventually get used to.
Geographical Distribution
Spoken primarily in Crecia, though it can also be heard on the open ocean and in towns that border Crecia.
