Blood Dyv
Blood Dyv, commonly called Sand Dyv during the Summer years, or Snow Dyv during the Winter, are the most civilized of the Dyv breeds. They live on the surface in moderately sized communities that can often be mistaken for regular settlements. That is not to say one should seek them out as allies however, rather, while a regular Dyv will simply want to eat you, a Blood Dyv will consult its Shaman about the best way to ritually prepare your body for sacrifice and consumption, slowly, while still alive.
Blood Dyv are most commonly found in the extreme western and eastern reaches of Khaz Vedran, but can be found on Jhanin as well. This is because in ancient times the Blood Dyv were bred by the Dragons to be their servants by mixing them with Hakkyn and Dwevan. However, they were eventually deemed unruly and dangerous, and the Dragons sought to eradicate them, to replace them with the more loyal Dwevan. The Blood Dyv in Khaz Vedran were pushed to near extinction, but the Invasion and the weakening of the world gave them an opportunity to bounce back. Today they boast sizable empires on Khaz Vedran's south west and north eastern tips, which occasionally war with the Dragons and Xhalandar.
The Blood Dyv tend to gather around ancient primal demigods they call simply Ancients. Who they eagerly sacrifice themselves and others to to gain their favor.
