Dumas
The Fallen Magus
Once he was one of the 12 and one of the 6 human Magi. Dumas specialised in life magic, healing injuries and sickness as well as enhancing the growth of plants and the quality of food. However, at some point he became jealous of the more fantastical powers of the other Magi.
He grew resentful and it was that spark of resent that gave Daenervon his chance. The Archon was also resentful, resentful and bitter over the favour that the Creator had shown his newest creations. He spoke to Dumas, formed a kinship between him and corrupted the heart and mind of the Magus. Together they twisted and distorted the gift of magic that the Creator had bestowed, and formed the Dark Arts and Necromancy.
This black, corrupted form of his life magic instead enslaved the dead, trapping their souls and forcing their dead bodies to do his will. Dumas raised an army of dead as well as living who he conquered under threat of adding their bodies to the dead army. With this power, he marched across the lands, his ranks swelling with each victory and defeat, it seemed he would be unstoppable.
Shamdul faced Dumas in a one on one battle, but despite the mighty Shamdul's strength, he could not over come the dark and horrible powers Dumas had formed, and Dumas in utter hatred and spite cast a curse upon not only Shamdul, but the entire Orcandish people.
Eventually, the other Magi united against him and managed to overcome Dumas and his army of the dead. With Dumas defeated, his armies crumbled to dust and his conquest was stopped in it's tracks. To this day, no one but the most vile would ever name their child Dumas because the name holds so much history and disgust.
