Arising
The Arising is an event that occurred in the distant past of the Central Domain, and Gnomes. According to legend, the Arising marked the moment when these races opened their eyes on floating isles, as if they had just awoken from a dream. No one knows exactly what caused the Arising or what happened before it, and the event remains shrouded in mystery to this day. Other races, such as the Dragons seem to have resided here before.
In the aftermath of the Arising, the various races struggled to adapt to their new reality and make sense of their new world. Some, like the Aarakocra, found themselves stranded on barren, inhospitable islands and had to find ways to survive in these harsh environments.
According to the Elves, who lived in the northern regions of the Central Domain, the Arising was a widespread event that affected all of the mortal races, and not just the Aarakocra. They claim that they too experienced the Arising and have no memories of the past.
Despite the chaos and confusion caused by the Arising, the mortal races eventually managed to rebuild and thrive, creating the rich and diverse societies, some of which that exist today. The legacy of the Arising long felt, now it is treated as the starting date of many calendars, notably the Irenic Reverential Calendar. However, the event is still shrouded in mystery, and many questions about the true nature of the Arising and its causes remain unanswered.
