A ship and their duties often come back to their captain and their desires. Many are merchant boats, some are passenger boats and others might be pirate boats.
The sea isn't an easy life, especially with the dangerous water awnshegh around, but someone has to keep things moving on the water or the economy will start to fail. Despite being so important no one things highly of ships or their Captains. The merchants often do, but that is as far as the respect will go.
