A sleepy village where the bread is always baking

Created by Marcel M du Plessis

There are basic wooden palisades surrounding the settlement. These have not been kept up and there are many rotten posts and large gaps. The small hamlet relies on able-bodied individuals to come to Ryestead's aid in the form of a citizen's militia.

Industry & Trade

The Briar Rose Inn doubles as a trading post. From here ground flour, sacks of grain, and the settlement's famous rye bread is traded for

Assets

Realm-famous fresh bread.

Natural Resources

The outskirts of the hamlet is dominated by wheat fields and the occasional sheep farm. The Meander river flows through the town and powers the watermill.

Did you draw the map of the village by hand or did you use a program? sorry for all the questions...

No worries. I drew the map by hand - just printed a grid.

That's actually a really good idea... and I hope you don't mind if I try that myself someday!

Not at all! Just let me know how it goes.

Map tip: adding the thick shadows really makes a difference. Make sure that they are on the same side for all buildings and objects (like in my map, they are on the left and on the bottom). The taller the structure, the thicker and more extended the shadow. Using a more inky pen helps to distinguish the shadow lines from the wall lines.
