T'lios Raga and the Immy Blues

T'lios Raga and the Immy Blues

T'lios Raga has fallen prey to the dreaded "immy blues" after immigrating to Chellok. He has been disappointed and bored in his new life. He is unmotivated and disinterested in all pursuits. He has not taken care of himself physically or mentally. He has grown detached from his new and only friends on this world and has forgotten his original motivation for coming to Chellok...   Or did he even have a reason? Was he just bored back on Prakyun? It's anyone's guess.   T'lios sits alone in the small motel room in New Lanvia that Derax pays for. The dull blues and purples of early double dawn strike the curtains and cast a faint glow across the room. T'lios runs his thumb across the patterned glass bottle one more time and sloshes his eyes down to the remaining kaldis nut liqueur. Fal bought the bottle for Nama and Derax as a house-warming gift.   Nama, Derax, Fal... they're all off on another adventure while T'lios slouches motionless except for the slight rocking of his drunken head.   What does T'lios do next?
PC was given the option of either a) continuing in the game or b) retiring from the game with the chance to roll to turn T'lios into an NPC.
T'lios tilts the bottle back and slams the rest of the liqueur. He succumbs to his depression and drinks himself into an alcohol-induced coma. As he tries to get out of the chair, T'lios stumbles. The force of his face hitting the floor and the sound is muffled like it came from the apartment next door.   This is bad. T'lios feels the alcohol dissolving his mind. A series of neurons fire a hint of a memory across his failing consciousness: "Derax's co-worker at the bar... he said he might stop by to ask Derax to pick up an extra shift today. That's my only hope..."   But the alcohol has singed too many neurons now.
PC failed the health saving throw.
T'lios shuts his eyes and opens his mouth and feebly attempts to vomit, but only expels a bit of sour-smelling bile.   Unfortunately for T'lios, Derax's coworker picks up the extra shift himself and stays at the bar.   The bright light that was T'lios' potential weakens as the majestic glory of high double dawn and the brilliant glow of direct Zazetan sunlight floods the small apartment. The light of his soul fades and fades until even the sunlight glistening off the small puddle of bile is brighter. A gentle breeze carries mist from Ariel Falls over the town, hiding the sun for a moment. The final flicker of T'lios' soul falters in the grey shadows of Derax's apartment and is extinguished.
One of my players quit the campaign. Here's the story of their PC's death.

A very sad ending and a well written piece. It's always a shame when a player quits a campaign and the character's story has to end.   Again, well written!

Yes, I was sad to see the player choose to retire. But I hope it is the best for the longevity of the campaign... and that one day that player will return!
