Wyvern
Wyverns are a subspecies of dragons, characterised by large wings and its only two legs (rather than four). There are many variations of wyverns found throughout the continent. The major difference between each variation is the color of its scales.
Domestication
Wyverns can be domesticated in order to be used as a method for transportation. Training is required, as well as a close bond between wyvern and rider, as the drakes are not eager to be controlled. Those who can are referred to as wyvern riders. In the past, before The Fall, the domestication of wyverns was widespread. Nowadays, keeping wyverns is a dangerous and often illegal pursuit; for a wyvern to be useful for transportation, it will have outgrown its owner at least four-fold. Additionally, wyverns are known to be stubborn and rebellious. In theBasic Information
Anatomy
The wyvern family of dragons can be distinguished by their large wings. The wyvern has two hind legs and claws attached to each wing. It has a snake-like body, covered in scales, and a long tail. The head of the wyvern is different for each subbreed, which in turn is determined by the color of its scales. All wyverns have sharp teeth, nostrils, and eyes near the front of the head, much like a bird of prey.
Growth Rate & Stages
A wyvern grows slowly. In confinement, it will have reached its adult size at the age of 10. However, when not contained, it will keep growing throughout its entire life.
