Hilda Snowladen
Hilda Snowladen-Wagner was a hunter that called the Dragonscale Mountains her home and protected it from malicious fey and monsters. She was particularly active during the year 1A 5689, when the Black Dragons and Danen were scouring Lysandus.
History
In the year 5663, a mysterious nordic man named Bjarke Snowladen arrived in the city of Kirkwall, meeting a young barmaid named Flaeda Read. Very quickly, Flaeda grew a fondness for Bjarke. She became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter, whom she named Hilda. Hilda was born on November 9th of 5664. Bjarke remained with his lover and raised his bastard daughter for four years, until he mysteriously left one day. Hilda still adopted her father's last name, as her mother hoped it would help her reputation. Hilda still grew up under a single mother, leaving people of Kirkwall to start rumors about her. As such, Hilda became a wanderer, often going into the forest of Kirk to keep her mind off the persecution of her mother. At age 10, she met a trope of Lysandan foresters, who were impressed about her amateur understanding of scouting. Thus, to find honor to her mother, Hilda joined the foresters and became a tracker. At the age of 20, Hilda expanded her knowledge from the forests of Kirk to the Dragonscale Mountains, a place of curiosity. She nearly got lost in a blizzard as she trekked through them, until she met the dragon Morgesk. Morgesk offered Hilda shelter, and gave her insight on the landscape of the mountains so that she could journey back home safely. Thus, Hilda learned to travel to Morgesk, of whom she grew a high opinion of. Her knowledge of the Dragonscale Mountains led her to being the main guide for them by Kirkwall. She became friends with a Wild Mage named Hamill. Hamill often asked her to lead him to Morgesk, for he wished to learn more about dragons and their culture in hopes to relay it to the Cult of Vivian. Though Hilda didn't care much for the cult, she still extended her help and would lead Hamill on yearly journeys.The Second Dragon Crisis
By May of 5689, the tides of fate changed. The Knights of Black Dragon began to take old ruins down the mountainside, which Hilda tried to fight off. A mighty blizzard came, scaring them away, but they regrouped down toward Kirkwall with a Danen army. Hilda went after them, joining Hamill and the Kirkwall guards to try and fight them, but they were defeated when the dragon Gorgoth was unleashed. Though Hamill was captured, Hilda helped the remaining citizens and Dragonlord Millerstone escape into the forest of Kirk, where they found solitude. Eventually, Hilda Snowladen became instrumental in assisting the adventuring group, the Dragonblazers, in travelling up the Dragonscale Mountains and visiting the dragon Morgesk. She met Wulfric Cisboren this way, whom she noticed had a family resemblance. After the Dragonblazers rescued Kirkwall, she stayed in the city to protect it with Hamill.Later Life
After the Battle of Amagus Tower, Hilda would travel up to Obesfeld in 5692 and meet with Wulfric once again. Slytoff Han would use the spell scrying and learn they were half-siblings the entire time. Hilda and Wulfric planned to find their true father and thus embarked to the Confederation of Gothai. They found their father in Norden, being held hostage by orcs. They rescued their father Bjarke, who decided to give up his life of scandal and live with his family again. Afterwards, Hilda, Hamill, and the knight Sir Galafred joined together to fight off the remaining Black Dragons in the land, prosecuting the last one they could find, Seldwig Lightfoot, by 5700. During this, she ended up marrying Sir Galafred. She thus retired from fighting once the Black Dragons were destroyed and went on to having six children: a son named George, her daughter Teressa and son Brunwulf (fraternal twins), a son named Eadhed, a daughter named Hilda, and a last son named Eanulf. Unfortunately, her and Galafred became distant as he kept having to travel to Feller's Rock when Slytoff Han was absent, an oath he swore. Only when they became old did their marriage rekindle. They both died the same year, 5748, in happy matrimony.Relationships
History
Morgesk saved the life of Hilda Snowladen when she was lost in the Dragonscale Mountains. Ever since then, she has been grateful of dragons, and has tried to kill any fey or monsters that disturbed the mountainside.
