Elemental Blight

Elemental Blight is a type of mystic blight that the Presari are effected by. Those who use to much of an element will begin to take on aspects of the element. Like all mystic blight crystal shards will grow on the skin. Though they will end up charged with elemental power.

Transmission & Vectors

It is spread through overexposure to the essence that is charged with elemental power. It can be spread through exposure to a elemental blighted individuals aura if overexposed.

Causes

Overuse or extended exposure to elementally charged essence can cause individuals to mutate to better harness such elements. This causes the individual to slowly lose what they were as they become something capable of more potent magic without the need of spirits to act as a buffer.

Symptoms

Hardened crystals begin to form on the skin in certain areas. Eventually, power will glow under the skin even when they aren't using magic.

Treatment

An ointment can be useful for the itchy skin near the crystal growths.

Hosts & Carriers

Zidian trees carry it in high doses as it is believed they are regular trees that have mutated to contain high levels of the essence. Any creature is powerful in magic also caries it. Luckily most can't get the blight from being around these individuals only from them harnessing the magic themselves over an extended time.
