Half-Orc

To be a Half-Orc is to be something artificially created through the perversion of magic. Half-Orcs are not born, they are made. Half-Orcs were first created by War Mage Leander Thornhart before The War of Horns, through a twisted magical ritual that mixed the blood of an Orc and a Human. Half-Orcs were made using prisoners willing to lessen their sentence to be made into a half-orc used for war, and through volunteers willing to trade their humanity for incredible physical strength.

Half-Orc Themes

  • Abominations. To be a half-orc is to accept that you will be viewed as an abomination by both cultures from which you were born. You will likely never be fully accepted anywhere you go, and how you deal with this will define you.
  • A Human Past. You were once human and had a completely different life that you can never go back to.
  • Hate. After the transformation, you found your psyche had been completely changed. You now struggle to control your anger and malice as it constantly seeks to overtake that which remains of your human self.

Your primary language is chosen based on your place of origin, but is likely Bremen since that is where Half-Orcs were created.

Half-Orc

The infusion with Orc blood has twisted your bones and muscles into a form in between that of a human and orcs. Your strength exceeds that which is possible of a normal human. 

  • Your Strength score increases by 3.
  • Your Constitution score increases by 1.
  • Your size averages between 5.5-7ft tall, regardless of your previous height as a human. You likely weigh near 300lbs due to the density of your new muscles.
  • Your base walking speed is 30ft.
  • You age similar to a human.
You struggle against your human tendencies as anger and hate seek to overcome your current psyche.
  • Half-Orcs tend towards chaos, but good to evil varies.
Whether you like it or not, your form serves to easily intimidate those around you.
  • You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Your orcish blood makes you savage and relentless in battle, regardless of your previous past as a human.
  • When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
  • When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon's damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.

 

Languages. Your language is chosen like a Humans, but is likely Bremen since that is where Half-Orcs were created.
