Magmer
These aquatic-ancestored folk have a variety of genes pooling together to create their existence, and are quite miraculous to exist at all. They are the offspring of Oyatare and lava elementals, a surprisingly common divergence in the specific region of the Krironte Sea and the Allant volcano's resident lava elementals. They are typically humanoid in appearance, like the Oyatare and mer, but are distinctly even more alien than their aquatic counterparts. Are generally quite beautiful and quite deadly.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Magmer have long fish-like bodies, morphing into humanoid for their torsos and heads.
They are typically 15 feet in length from head to tail, the majority their tail.
Their bodies primarily consist of hot lava and metals, with some volcanic rock. Much like hellifish, where these creatures have skin, it is heat resistant to a point they can swim in the liquid magma.
Their limbs are typically white-hot lava in appearance, but once they cool, dull to a red orange, then black.
Their upperbodies are much like an oyatare's in that they possess both lungs and gills to breathe air and magma. They have a hair like substance that grows from their heads, but it is entirely magically influenced by the creature, and doesn't naturally occur in great lengths. Their mouths contain many gnashing teeth of hard metallic rock, and where eyes should be are sightless orbs of white. Their fingers are completely webbed together, but still function similarly to human hands. They have a singular tail instead of legs, with a pair of fins on both sides and a singular fin at the end.

Genetics and Reproduction
Magmer reproduce much like cetacean sea creatures. Both male and female of the species have internal sex organs contained inside a slit. The female's will remain interior during intercorse, while the male's two penises will protrude while aroused. Sex between these creatures is much the same as most creatures, and once the female's egg has been fertilized, offspring grow in their womb. It is a hot, pure lava place, which somehow makes the younglings grow faster. The typical gestation period of magmer is only about 7 months, commonly shorter. Offspring are birthed live through the vaginal canal. They are commonly birthed as hot as the lava that created them, and have to be handled very carefully to avoid harm on the doctor/others.
Growth Rate & Stages
Magmer have similar growth to humans, with a longer life expectancy. Children learn to swim instinctively with their mothers, and are independent for most things by the age of 5. As they grow older, magmer darken, especially around their tails, joints, and 'hair'. The more scale growth you see on a mer, the older they typically are. As they age, mer learn to navigate their surroundings with surprising precision, and prove to be quite adept at swimming and magic.
Ecology and Habitats
Magmer live almost exclusively in the Allant Volcanic Floe. It is their origin of sorts, and they require massive amounts of heat to live. For their species to migrate, they would have to find another volcano or liquid extreme heat source. Perhaps like that at the bottom of the ocean, but they would die getting there, so it is unlikely for them to move.
Because they've lived there for hundreds of years, the magmer have well-established groupings, and a tunnel-system within the lava currents of the floe. Invisible to the human eye, the Magmer swim all over the peninsula in these tunnels, and have created large cavern-like places inside them to live in.
THis could be how they trap innocent prey, by allowing various animals/creatures to follow them deep into the land, but no outsider has verified this hypothesis.
Behaviour
Magmer are generally separated into clanlike 'families', and are loyal to one clan. Younglings will cross between clans when they decide to take a mate, but mates are not for life, and the female will return to her own clan with the young after birth. Interfighting is uncommon unless one is looking to expand territory or some such, occassional kidnapping, etc.
There are, of course, many who would trap or kill a magmer for many reasons, however, they are exceptionally hard to catch outside of fighting until they've been knocked unconscious. Nets cannot hold them, as they would burn right through the bonds, same with basic manacles. Slavers are always interested in the unique and this prey would be a huge profit for them. Hard to keep, but still.
They will fight these offensive peoples with magics and lava slinging, and if all else fails, nothing can beat how fast they swim in the lava, and once they reach their tunnels, truly nothing can follow.
These creatures don't typically trust anything that can't swim in the lava.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
These creatures experience the world much like any other, however are usually blind, and 'see' through the their other senses, as well as with a specialized organ that exists under their skin to sense the vibration in the world around them. Some use their magics to perceive the world as well.
