Hobart Police

As seen in |
The Hobart Police is the primary law enforcement agency of Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, Australia. The agency is responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and protecting property within the municipality.   The history of the Hobart Police station dates back to the early 19th century when the first police force in Tasmania was established in 1804. However, it wasn't until 1830 that the Hobart Police station was officially established as a police barracks to accommodate the growing number of police officers in the area.   In 1854, a new police station was built on the corner of Liverpool and Murray Streets, which served as the headquarters of the Hobart Police until the mid-20th century. Over the years, the station underwent several renovations and expansions to keep up with the growing demands of the police force.   Today, the Hobart Police station is located on Harrington Street and serves as the central hub of the Hobart Police force. The building features modern facilities and technology, including a state-of-the-art communications centre and a crime lab.   The Hobart Police is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the residents and visitors of Hobart. The agency works closely with the community to prevent crime, respond to emergencies, and maintain public order. With a proud history and a dedicated team of officers, the Hobart Police continue to serve and protect the city with integrity and professionalism.
