Luka Jorgan

Luka Jorgan is a human male that lives in the Teranden Forrest outside the small town of Hound Hill in the Kingdom of Midour. He's lived in the wilds for as long as he could remember and has no memory of his parents or where he origionally came from. He was taught to survive in the wilds by a woman he only knew as Seranta, a mysterious half-elf when he was a boy. She stayed with him for two years, in which time she taught him to forage, hunt and craft his own tools and the worship of the goddess of nature, Gharina. Seranta had given him a challenge to see if he was prepared for survival on his own on day. He was to travel for three days into the forrest and live off the land for a week once he arrived wherever he happened to stop on the third day. When he successfully did that he was to return to their home camp and report his sucess. Luka did as he was told and thrived in the darkest parts of the Teranden Forrest. When he returned to his home camp, he found that it was no longer there. It had been packed up and according to what Luka was able to discern from his tracking skills, it was done soon after he had left on his journey. Of Seranta there was no sign. There was no note, sign of a struggle or any sign of a trail to be found in order for him to follow her. He was 10 when he was left alone and spent the next 10 years living alone in the Teranden. He seldom had any interaction with the people from Hound Hill or anyone passing on the road, but when he did it was only to trade pelts and meat for certain items he couldn't get in the forrest such as specific spices that he liked in his food or alcoholic beverages, which he very much enjoyed. One day he was ambushed by a pack of wolves. Luka attempted a fighting retreat in which he slew several of his attackers, but was soon overwhelmed and he was left bloody, hurt and barely able to remain on his feet. As the sun's final rays fell below the horizon, Luka prepared for his final stand. Suddenly night turned to day as a bright light erupted from above the wolves and a figure in white robes bearing a symbol of a sun and weilding a mace, set upon the attackers. The robed figure's attack was so sudden and fierce that after striking down two of the remaining wolves, the rest fled and ran away in terror. Luka's savior was a young cleric of Selot, the sun god, from the nearby town of Hound Hill name Dane Lopatin. He had been on the road running next to the forrest on his way back from tending to some sick farmers that lived outside of town, when he heard the commotion in the woods. When he realized that the wolves were after a person, he rushed into render aid immediately. Dane had used the last of his minor abilities to save Luka and was only able to give basic medical aid and the monastary that he lived at was past capacity with others that had caught the same illness that the farmers had. Instead he brought Luka to the home of his parents who lived in town, Wayne and Elaine Lopatin. Luka had lost a lot of blood and had grievous injuries, but over the next two weeks the Lopatins nursed him back to health and Dane would come to his parent's home after his duties to check on his progress. When he was healthy enough to move unaided, Luka left in the middle of the night and returned to the forrest. The next day he encountered Dane once again when the young cleric was looking for him to check on his health. Luka had spent a long time being alone, but found Dane's kindness and seeming naivete endearing. It was then that Luka decided to take a chance on friendship with Dane. What Luka found immediately about his new friend was that though Dane was a young, not fully trained cleric, he had a burning desire to help everyone that he could. When a farmer had broken his foot at harvest time, Dane treated his foot and went to tend the fields himself, with Luka at his side and brought his harvest to market. Anytime Dane would help someone, Luka would be at his side helping and protecting his friend. Over the course of several years Luka had become a fixture in the Lopatin household and anywhere there was someone in need in the Hound Hill area. Luka's suspicious and cautious nature has never left him,and is often the saving grace for the duo as Dane's caring and trusting nature can put them into dangeorus situations. Though Luka is wise and has good judgement, he follows Dane's lead. He has become accepted and even welcomed into the Hound Hill community as one of their own. This makes Luka happy, but matters less to him than helping his friend does. The young cleric's enthusiasm is infectious and his seeming purity of heart and mind may not always lead them to the safest path, but Luka has no doubt that whatever path they take will be the morally correct one.
