Costa Rica (coast-uhh reek-uhh)

Costa Rica is a a country located in Central America beneath Nicaragua and above Panama. The nation was colonized by Spain , and it gained independence from Mexico in 1847. It abolished its military in 1949 after the Costa Rican Civil War of 1948. It is also a member of the United Nations and host to a Costa Rican division of Majestic on an archipelago 200 miles off the southwestern coast.
