Mexico (Mecks-ick-oh)
Mexico is a country located in North America beneath the United States. It was host to a myriad of different Mesoamerican cultures before being ruled by the Aztec Empire, which was toppled by Spain and its colonization efforts. After years of ownership, Mexico achieved independence in 1836. It is a founding member of the United Nations .
