All young boys in Dantel dream of becoming a Falradian Ranger but very few ever have the skill and physical endurance to become a Ranger. Malcom was no such boy. Born to a Ranger mother and a Knight-Captain father, Malcom was ready to become a soldier from the moment he could walk and hold a blade.
He was the youngest recruit in his class during Ranger training, and all expected the young boy to quit, but Malcom persevered and would become the top recruit in his class. Earning respect from his peers and instructors for his diligence, perseverance, and terrifying endurance, Malcom would be placed into the honoured 1st Ranger Company.
He would serve as an assistant to Duncan Leroue, the Lord of the Rangers. During this time, he would learn many leadership skills.
During 23250, when the Third War of Thoroughfare began, Malcom was given the title of Ranger Captain and command of the 3rd Ranger Company and then was ordered to accompany the young King Alexander's army south.
As Ranger Captain, Malcom would lead his Rangers to significant effect against the Empire's armies. Despite suffering a grievous wound during the Battle of Darton Keep, he would recover and join the remaining Falradian soldiers to march back to Aerilon.
He would continue to act as Ranger Captain until the year 23280 when a Duramic assault on his position finally slew him during the Defense of Thornehold.
