Illusion Projection
In Continental the horses are a type of Beasts and have a special ability as such. Illusions are not exclusive to the Continental Horse or even to Beasts. Certain kinds of Fairies can also fool the senses with illusions. But the most common users are Continental Horses so this article will talk about mostly how they use it.
A lesser variant of this ability is possessed by Rainbow Steer, though that only allows them to change camouflage on themselves. The true form of illusion ability possessed by Continental Horses is much more powerful and can do many things including: make objects fade away, show information, project images, produce sounds and visions, mess with scale and perspective, disguises, look more physically intimidating, create fake threats, make anyone look more or less wounded.
A visual illusion is generally a static or limited animation image.
Effect
Either something disappears or some sensory experience is created.
Side/Secondary Effects
The user can actually be fooled by their own illusions if they are not smart.
Manifestation
A large breath leaves the users mouth in a powerful exhale, the breath is brown and green in color and doesn't look quite right. Like when you see two slightly different art styles in the same painting. The breath then travels to the specified area and solidifies into the illusion.
Source
The innate power in the user.
Discovery
Discovered as early as the first Humans were building civilization back in the Magic Era, illusion projection is one of the primary reasons horses were tamed. With human masters, the horses were able to use their illusions more creatively and effectively, no longer getting fooled so much. Any rider who takes the time to fully bond with their horse has used the ability in and getting out of combat.
This is one of the historical bases for the myth Havoc 81.
