Erwin Schwit is the Commander, XO, and Owner of The Red Dragons.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Erwin is a thuroughly middle-aged man, who can feel every weather change in his joints and ligaments. Still, he remains in surprisingly good overall physical condition, given his primary employment as a bar owner. He has strong legs, a strong back, a thick head, and a beer belly.

Oxnard Militia

In 505 E4 - at the age of 16 - Erwin joined the Oxnard City Militia as a professional soldier. It provided a way for him to get off of the street and earn some steady pay and food. He served as a footman and sergeant until the Oxnard-Tintallindor War, when his unit defected from the Militia during the Oxnard Coup in June of 533. His unit joined with a mercenary group called The Iron Serpents.

The Iron Serpents

Erwin's seniority warranted him a promotion to Lieutenant in the Iron Serpants, and he was given command of a platoon. The Iron Serpants left Oxnard and travelled west, into Dartwheat. Upon entering, Erwin tasked one of his squads with heading north to make contact with the Lady of Baegsafel and determine if there are job prospects for the company in the north of the region. Shortly thereafter, political struggles within the company fractured leadership and the mercenaries dissolved as an organization within a few weeks.

The Red Dragons

Erwin travelled to Abenruck, where he used the last of his money to purchase an Inn and Tavern called The Red Dragon. Then, the squad of mercenaries Erwin had tasked to reconoiter the north returned to him with no news of work. The squad elected to stay with Erwin in Abenruck, and he formed a hybrid Tavern and Mercenary business called The Red Dragon. Erwin serves as the commander, XO, and owner of the organization.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Until recently, Erwin lived the hedonistic lifestyle of a man intent on cruising through the remainder of his life. Now, his mistress Sandra has announced that she is pregnant with his child and he has come to the realization that he has nothing but a failing tavern to leave his progeny. This midlife crisis has rekindled a desire to be a mercenary captain and build The Red Dragons into something more substantial.
