History

Following the coup in Oxnard in the summer of 533 E4, elements of the Oxnard Militia joined with an existing mercenary company called the Iron Serpents and headed west into Dartwheat. The Iron Serpents ultimately disbanded, but Lt. Erwin Schwit found his way to Abenruck and purchased The Red Dragon Inn and Tavern from its former owner with the last of his money. Shortly thereafter, he was joined by a squad of mercenaries from the Iron Serpents who wished to continue working with him. Erwin Schwit therefore created a hybrid business from the two organizations, consolidated under the "Red Dragon" name.
For the next two decades, The Red Dragons operated primarily as a tavern, while occassionally taking small mercenary contracts to help cover budget shortfalls.
The Concord of Black Invasion of 550 brought war to the doorstep of Abenruck, and new opportunities for those willing to fight. With regular travel from The Harlade Mountains disrupted by the war, the Red Dragons looked for mercenary work. By 551, they were performing mercenary jobs for The Watchful Servants, under subcontract from the Military of Abenruck.
