The Harlade Confederation

The Harlade Confederation is a military and political alliance of sovereign human counties in The Harlade Mountains.
The Harlade Confederation is currenty engaged in an ongoing war with The Concord of Black.

Demography and Population

The body demos of the Harlade Confederation is primarily human, especially of the foreign stock who annexed The Harlade Mountains at the end of the previous era. Men of the lowland ethnicities to the south are also present in limited numbers, especially as tradespersons and laborers.
Elven and Dwarven civilizations native to the Harlades have also lended some limited numbers to the citizenry, though they typically prefer to live in their own Elven forest-homes or Dwarven mountainhomes respectively.

Territories

The Harlade Confederation claims as its terretory all the lands within the various member counties.
To the north, the counties of: Auborg, Frisograf, and Wilbruigh have well-established boundaries which border peaceful neighbor claims. To the east, the counties of: Wilbruigh, Genedorf, and Dietmar; as well as the sovereign city-state of Lanternlight border the inland sea. To the south, county boundaries are less-well defined. Dietmar and Kerseruck border the uncivilized lowland swamps along the southern coast, and Ellothrond and Wattry have strong claims to their respective valleys that become radically undefined as they approach the city-states of Les Villas.
The western border is the most contested, having been the subject of a relatively recent border dispute with the human claims west of the valley Raviernruck. What are now the counties of Bordy, Sigelruck, and Wattry were annexed from the Jarls of Coerberch in a conflict historically refered to as The Annexation of the Uplines. Though disputed, the functional boundary of these county claims borders at the Siverling River, which runs southward through these valleys.

Military

Main Article: Military of the Harlades Confederation
Harlade Confederation member-counties are expected to provide for their own military and civilian security in times of peace. When the Harlades Congress issues an official declaration of war, or when the security of the Harlades is obviously under threat, counties are expected to muster an army totaling 5% of their total population, and to logitically support that army for the term of one year.
