Personal history
A star fallen to the material plane long ago, before the dawn of time and history itself, Gail-Idhren was a figure who has since become the stuff of Elven Myth and Legend for his heroic deeds...said to have quickly become the leader of the ancient High Elven city known as El-Adri before it fell, he ruled it and its lands with compassion and grace, leading with wisdom and foresight until the city, damned by the gods for its blasphemous arrogance for some unknown crime that has been lost to time, fell to darkness and was cast into the abyss as the 'Black City'...now the very symbol of what it means for those who crave power and knowledge to go too far.
As the planar utopia their people had forged was lost to them and their very existence was in jeopardy, Gail-Idhren stepped up and led the remnants and survivors of El-Adri on a centuries long pilgrimage from the very boundary of reality where El-Adri stood sentinel, across hundreds of worlds and dozens of planes both big and small...until finally, he led his people into the Material Plane, to the large planet where his meteor had crashed down to reality so long ago. It was there that he forged and carved out a vast and mighty empire for his flock, founding the first Elven Kingdom in the heartlands of his kingdom while he began to divvy up the remaining land amongst his other vassals...his kingdom was vast, mighty, and impossibly grand, and has since often been considered a utopia, a place where the evils of the world could not reach for fear of Gail-Idhren's shining silver soul. After the founding of his perfect kingdom, he was given a new name, to better represent his perfection and beautiful silver soul: "Gail-Idhren", or "Silver-Soul", in the ancient Elven Tongue...a name to better represent his heroic nature and to signify his ascension from his old self to the savior and father of all Elvenkind.
In time, though, as eons passed, the light of his soul began to fade as the Planescape became less and less chaotic and more and more solidified...more set in stone, and less and less mystical and wonderful by the day. With the glory of his prime long past and the world losing much of the luster it once had, Gail-Idhren was said to have perished in a mighty battle defending his kingdom against some massive threat....the details of which have since been lost to time. His glory spent and his soul tarnished from eons of life in a world that was now no longer fit or worthy to hold him within it, he was said to have returned to the sky and become the star he had been originally, shining down eternally to watch over the creatures he had led and saved from catastrophe...and now and forever more shines as the brightest star in the sky: Polaris, the North Star, the guiding light which all creatures of the world can rely on to guide their way even in the darkest and most cloudy nights. Such is his splendid and eternal legacy, as the father of the Elves, savior of Elvenkind and countless other races, and founder of the first and greatest kingdom the Material Plane had ever seen. Even as it fragmented after his death, the Elves stayed in the heartlands of his empire...now, this heartland has become the Elvenwood, where they yet remain.
