Vella Garron

Vella Garron (a.k.a. Bandit Queen)

Known as the Bandit Queen of the Spine. Garron was orphaned after her village was slaughtered during a rebellion against their local lord. At age 12 Garron fell in with a small band of rebel survivors who took to banditry to live. As members of the gang died or were replaced by new recruits Vella survived and grew skilled in the ways of the forest. Eventually the gang became Vella’s gang and she began to recruit more members. It is said she now commands a small army of some 200 bandits. Vella is said to be a keen shot with a bow and requires everyone in her band to learn the bow. She is the self-declared enemy of all nobles. She sees herself as the protector of the poor and oppressed with a reputation of distributing money and food to peasants. She also provides assistance to those she views as fleeing oppression. Vella is described as a woman of medium height with pale skin, black hair and dark eyes. She usually dresses in greens and greys to blend in with the mountain forests. Her preferred weapons are the bow and the long knife. She is usually accompanied by her lover, Captain Durren. It is said she captured Durren when he was pursuing her and had originally planned to ransom him. Hansom and witty Durren endeared himself to Vella and became her lover. He has now been at her side for three years.
