In the Beginning

The city had warning of the approaching armes enough to retreat within the cky walls that had defended them since the Empire and improved over time. Farmers and herds people brought in their crops though the siege began in Spring when planting begins. The walls held, and the sides fell into a stalemate into late summer.

The Breaking of the Walls

Through treason or exploration, Magnus the Red-Eyed discovered an evacuation route through the great walls and into the root cellar of a noble's house.   He took over the house and used it as a base of operations while leaving some soldiers to surround the city. Once inside the city and in position, his troops flooded out of the house and marched through the older walls built for more ancient days and into the keep where the Arle slept.   Arle Great-Cook had no choice, but to surrender, though he did negotiate down the terms down to swearing fealty to the High King and adding his military to the rest of the unified Thydian forces.

Impact

The siege was seen as a sign the Arle of Felkhath did not seek out glory for the sake of glory, but was also a person of reason and consideration. When the High King needed a formal treaty drafted, he remembered the negotiation skills of the Arle Great-Cook. He called upon Nunciel to pen it and to discuss the terms of unification with the other Arles and the High King.   When the city fell under siege again less than forty years later, the gates out under the noble houses were sealed of to Keep the remaining routes a secret. One of the other routes had their sealed pathways partially sapped as an attempt to let Capitolist and Ostufer soldiers into the city and to hold the Alre's daughter as a hostage.
