Aasimar (AH-sim-ar)

Aasimar are the diluted descendants of one of the many forms of divinity. They have less divine blood than mortal blood; often only a small fraction. This occurs most often when a Walking God or a demigod has a child with a mortal, creating a demigod or an aasimar. Their presence throughout Corporeus is fairly rare, and they are thus looked upon as a source of hope and inspiration for many, even the magical genasi.   When the Walking Gods visit mortals, they often take similar forms as the aasimar: impossibly elegant humans with radiant hair or eyes, shimmering with divinity. It is not uncommon for a layman to mistake an aasimar for one of those gods. Some unscrupulous aasimar have benefitted greatly from this misunderstanding.   In Zivilon, the aasimar enjoy exalted status and wealth. Some families are even given regular monetary tributes as a kind of proxy tithe to the gods. Among those families, the houses Nyctos and Erinyes receive the bulk of the offerings. This has embittered them toward each other for many years.
