Syn was the middle child and the oldest boy out of his pack in the Black Falls Forest, during the time he was born a family named the Blackwells would do raids on the forest taking any weres they could collaring them or beating them until they would submit to them. Thus was the fate of Syn's father and all of the husband's his older sisters had during his life. Syn feared for the lives of his younger siblings so he allowed himself to be captured once with a few of his sister's husbands, after they were collared the husbands did not do as they were told and go their heads blown off. Syn over heard a conversation saying that if the family did not find one to do their bidding they would keep raiding the forest so he made a plan. He would do the bidding of the Blackwells lull them into a sense of trust then find a way to remove the collar from his neck.... But he would need help.
Syn set out finding help when he ran across the new guild members in town Khem and Eryna... Khem seemed to have an air about him that Syn trusted and made the two of them friends. Thus Syn started to secretly rely information to the guild in exchange for them finding a way to release him from his collar to return home, but along the way Blackwell through a wrench into his plan forcing him to take up a mission with the stern beauty who always stood next to him on his 'throne'. Aora was her name and she was what disgusted him most... uncollared and still a slave to the man. On this mission though Syn slowly found himself understanding Aora and his beast started to call out for her, doing something he was stupid to do he trusted Aora with information about his collar and the guild. In the end though instead of betraying him Aora helped him at great risk to her family who were in the clutches of the Blackwells.
After Aora helped Syn in removing his collar, he returned the favor by biting her claiming her as his mate when the feral part of his beast was finally release after years of being forced back. Syn tried to apologize but Aora saw him as a beast and was content to leave their relationship there... but being marked can not go away so easily. Talking to his brethren and the guild members they all came up with a plan. A plan to destroy all the families and to put right back to the world, this entailed saving Aora by releasing her family from the Blackwells. This was what they called the 'Rikar Uprising'.
After the uprising all of them had been victorious in their war against the families destroying them into nothing, during this war Aora was reluctantly forced to fight alongside Syn which then drove them closer together. In the end, the glorious were-bear finally admitted her feelings for Syn becoming the marked mate he had made her. They currently are the King and Queen of Weres in the placed called Sanctuary in the Black Falls Forest, Sanctuary is just a post for the Synclair family to mainly call their 'Capital' in the forest since the whole forest holds a large number of clans in it.
