Grokus

Grokus was a mutant living beneath Lion City and the second-in-command to King Kaloo. After Prince Lucas decapitated his king, Grokus took charge of the mutants while Kaloo regenerated. Having grown comfortable with his leadership position in Kaloo's absence and frustrated with his Kaloo's strictures on the use of nectar, he struck a deal with the White Lion Armada to be supplied with nectar-powered weapons in exchange for agreeing not to attack their affiliate merchants with the Kestrel Brothers Shipping Company, who provided a service of delivering nectar to far away cities.
During the Corsair Exam, King Kaloo captured Simon and Wukong and sentenced them to have their feet removed for trespassing in mutant territory. Grokus saw the execution as a chance to win a powerful allly and intervened to save them. He recruited them to joing him in a plot to assassinate the king using mechs and a mutagenic poison that would halt his regenerative abilities, provided at the largesse of the White Lion Armada.
The Party pretended to agree with this plan, but actually used the coup to leverage a diplomatic allinace with Kaloo. Together, the Pary and Kaloo's loyalists killed Grokus, putting an end to his rebellion, and the mutant partnership with the White Lion Armada, for good.
